Privacy Policy

Clip – One Second Videos ("Clip") is developed by the Clip team ("we"). This policy explains what data the app handles and why. The short version: your videos never leave your device or your own iCloud, and we collect only anonymous usage and crash data plus what is needed to process purchases.

1. Your videos, photos and notes

Clip reads your photo library only when you pick or Auto-Fill moments, and only with the permission you grant in iOS. The moments you create, your projects and your notes are stored locally on your device. If you enable iCloud backup or collaboration, this data is synced through your personal iCloud account (Apple CloudKit) under Apple's privacy terms. We do not operate servers that receive, store or analyse your media.

2. Camera, microphone and contacts

Camera and microphone are used only while you record inside the app. Contacts are accessed only if you choose to invite someone to a shared project; contact data is used to address the invitation and is not uploaded to us.

3. Purchases

Subscriptions and one-time purchases are processed by Apple. We use RevenueCat to validate purchases and manage entitlements. RevenueCat receives an anonymous app user identifier, your purchase history for Clip and basic device information, and never receives your name, email or media. See RevenueCat's privacy policy.

4. Analytics and crash reports

We use Google Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics to understand which features are used and to fix crashes. This data is aggregated and not linked to your identity: screen views, feature events (for example "recap exported"), device model, OS version, country, and crash traces. We do not use this data for advertising and we do not track you across other apps or websites. See Google's privacy policy.

5. Notifications

Daily reminders are local notifications scheduled on your device. Collaboration updates use Apple push notifications delivered through iCloud; the payload contains only project identifiers.

6. Data retention and deletion

Deleting the app deletes all local data. iCloud data can be removed from Settings → Backup inside the app or from iOS Settings → Apple ID → iCloud → Manage Storage. Analytics data is retained by Google for up to 14 months.

7. Children

Clip is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live (including the EU/EEA, UK and California), you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal data and to object to processing. Because we hold no account or media data about you, most requests can be fulfilled by deleting the app; for anything else, contact us.
